Transportation Star – Terms & Conditions

 


1. Reservation Agreement

 

  • All deposits made to Transportation Star are non-refundable, regardless of circumstances.

  • In the event of a mechanical failure or vehicle breakdown during the reservation, Transportation Star shall not be held liable. Compensation will be limited to rescheduling lost time at a mutually agreeable date and time.

  • The client is financially responsible for any and all damages caused to the vehicle by themselves or any members of their party during the course of the rental.

  • A cleaning fee of $200 per item will be applied for any spills or stains on carpets or seats.

  • A sanitation fee of $350 will be charged in the event of bodily fluid evacuation or contamination.


 

2. Alcohol, Drug, and Behavior Policy

 

  • Alcohol consumption is allowed onboard Transportation Star vehicles (BYOB – Bring Your Own Bottle), provided all passengers are of legal drinking age.

  • Drug use is strictly prohibited by law. Any fines, penalties, or legal consequences resulting from the use of illegal substances will be the sole responsibility of the client.

  • Drivers reserve the right to terminate the ride without refund if there is any blatant misconduct, including but not limited to excessive intoxication, harassment, or illegal activity.

  • It is illegal to stand while the vehicle is in motion. All passengers must remain seated with seatbelts fastened where applicable.

  • Smoking is not permitted in any vehicle. Use of vaporizers or e-cigarettes is subject to the driver’s discretion.


 

3. Overtime & Billing

 

  • For hourly charters, overtime is billed in 15-minute increments beyond the scheduled time as listed on the run sheet.

  • A 20% gratuity will be automatically added to the final invoice, along with a 5% fuel surcharge.

  • For trips initiated more than 25 minutes outside of Austin, additional travel time will be charged, calculated from garage to garage.

  • Balances will be charged upon trip completion, or pre-authorized the day prior to the scheduled service.


 

4. Grace Periods

 

For point-to-point transportation services:

  • Local pickups: 5-minute grace period

  • Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS):

    • Domestic arrivals: 30-minute grace period after wheels down

    • International arrivals: 45-minute grace period after wheels down


 

5. Early & Late Hour Surcharges

 

For airport and other services initiated at the following times, the following surcharges will apply:

  • 5:00–6:00 AM and 11:00 PM–12:00 AM: $25 surcharge

  • 4:00–5:00 AM and 12:00–1:00 AM: $40 surcharge

  • 1:00–4:00 AM: 50% surcharge on the total trip rate


 

6. Safety & Liability

 

  • Transportation Star is not responsible for delays, cancellations, or route changes caused by hazardous road conditions (e.g., snow, ice, accidents).

  • The company is not liable for items left behind in any vehicle. Return of items may be possible, but will incur a fee based on distance and time required to return them.

  • Vehicles will not be operated beyond their legal seating capacity under any circumstances.


Cancellation Policy

 

To avoid penalties or loss of deposit, cancellations must be made as follows:

1. Standard Vehicles (SUVs & Sedans)

 

  • Minimum 24-hour notice required for cancellations, unless otherwise specified in your confirmation email or contract.

2. Specialty Vehicles (e.g., Stretch Limousines, Vans)

 

  • Minimum 72-hour notice required prior to scheduled service.

3. Buses and Large Capacity Vehicles

 

  • Cancellations must be made no less than 15 days before the scheduled pickup time.

4. Special Event Weekends & Holidays

 

  • A 15 to 30-day cancellation notice is required, based on the event, as outlined in your confirmation. This includes major events, festivals, sporting events, and holiday weekends.
